Albolote is a cool city in the province of Granada, Spain. It's part of the bigger Granada area, like a suburb. Albolote includes smaller towns and areas such as El Aire, El Chaparral, and Parque del Cubillas. You'll also find many neighborhoods within its borders. In 2018, about 18,746 people lived there.

Close to Albolote, a big battle called the Battle of La Higueruela happened on July 1, 1431. In this battle, the troops of King Juan II of Castille defeated the Muslim armies. This important event was even painted and shown at the famous Monastery El Escorial.

Later, in the 17th century, Albolote became a private estate owned by Don Antonio Álvarez de Bohórquez. He was the first marquis of Los Trujillos. In 1803, King Carlos IV gave a special title, Duque de Gor, to Don Nicolás Mauricio Álvarez de Bohórquez.
