Alejandro Abad was born on September 22, 1962, in Santiago, Chile. He is a famous singer, songwriter, and music producer from Chile and Spain. Many people know him for taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994.

Early Music Career
Alejandro Abad started his music career in the late 1980s. He released three albums in Spain during this time. These albums were called Quédate con él, Buscando tu destino, and Confidencias. His last album was released with the record company PolyGram.
Writing Songs for Other Artists
After releasing his own music, Alejandro began writing songs for other Spanish artists. One of his friends, Dyango, was a singer. Dyango asked Abad to help with his son's music career.
Alejandro Abad wrote songs for Dyango's son, Marcos Llunas. Marcos's first album had many popular songs. Hits like "Reconquistarte" and "Hay algo en ti" became very famous in Latin America.
In 1993, Alejandro wrote a winning song for the OTI Festival. This music festival was held in Valencia. The song was called "Enamorarse" and was sung by Ana Reverte.
Eurovision and Other Successes
In 1994, Alejandro Abad was chosen to represent Spain. He sang his own song, "Ella no es ella", at the 39th Eurovision Song Contest. This big event took place in Dublin. He also released an album with the same name.
Winning More Awards
Alejandro won the OTI Festival again in 1995. This time, he won as a songwriter in Asunción, Paraguay. The winning song was "Eres mi debilidad," sung by Marcos Llunas.
He was often invited to different countries in Latin America. There, he worked as a judge for international music events.
Producing for Famous Singers
In 2000, Alejandro Abad helped Raúl with his album Sueño su boca. This album sold over 600,000 copies in Spain. He also helped produce Paulina Rubio's album Lo haré por ti. That album sold three million copies around the world.
He discovered singer David Civera on a TV show called Lluvia de estrellas. In 2001, David Civera won the Spanish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. The song, "Dile que la quiero", was written by Abad. It finished sixth in the contest in Copenhagen.
In 2001, Alejandro Abad started a new company called Garsa Music. He created it with Susana Saura to manage David Civera's career. Abad has produced six albums for David Civera. Also in 2001, he produced the song "Mi música es tu voz". This song was for the contestants of the talent show Operación Triunfo.
Working with Young Talent
In 2003, Alejandro produced the song "Desde el cielo" for a singer named Sergio. This song came in second place at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003.
In 2004, he produced the first album for Vicente Seguí. Vicente was the winner of the third season of Operación Triunfo. Alejandro also wrote the first song, "Sin Medida", for Lorena. She won the fifth season of the show. He has also been a judge on the Operación Triunfo contest.
Reality TV Appearance
In January 2017, Alejandro Abad joined a reality TV show. It was called Gran Hermano VIP 5. This show is the Spanish version of Celebrity Big Brother.
