Alejandro Octavio Deustua Escarza (born March 22, 1849 – died August 6, 1945) was a very important person from Peru. He was a philosopher, a teacher, and a statesman. A statesman is someone who is skilled in leading a country. He even served as the Prime Minister of Peru for a few months in 1902.
His Life and Education
Alejandro Deustua was born in a city called Huancayo, in Peru. His parents were Remigio Deustua and Toribia Escarza.
He went to school at Guadalupe National School. Later, he studied at the Universidad de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. This is one of the oldest universities in the Americas. He lived a long life and passed away in Lima when he was 96 years old.
His Time as Prime Minister
In 1902, Alejandro Deustua became the Prime Minister of Peru. This is a very important job, like being the head of the government. He also served as the Minister for Home Affairs at the same time.
