Alejandro de la Sota Martínez (born October 20, 1913 – died February 14, 1996) was an important Spanish architect. He was born in Pontevedra, a city in the Galicia region of Spain.

He studied at the Technical University of Madrid and graduated in 1941. Later, from 1956 to 1972, he taught architecture at the same university. Even though he lived in Madrid, he always kept a connection to his home region of Galicia.

Alejandro de la Sota was known for new ideas in building. In the 1960s, he helped make construction more like a factory process. This meant using ready-made parts and faster methods. His design for the Maravillas School gymnasium in 1961 was special. It was the first building in Madrid to use a steel frame.

His buildings are known for their clear shapes and honest use of materials. They also show a bold way of using structures that still impresses people today. De la Sota received important awards for his work. These included the National Prize of Architecture and the Gold Medal from the Council of Architects.
