Aleksandra Andreyevna Fedoriva (born September 13, 1988, in Moscow, Russia) is a talented Russian athlete. She is known for her speed in sprinting events, which are short, fast races.

Aleksandra Fedoriva: A Russian Sprinter

Aleksandra Fedoriva is a well-known Russian track and field athlete. She has competed in many important races around the world. Her main events are sprints, where athletes run very fast over short distances.

Early Career in Hurdles

Aleksandra started her career as a specialist in hurdles. Hurdles are races where athletes jump over barriers while running. She showed great promise from a young age.

In 2005, she reached the semi-finals in the 100 metres hurdles at the World Youth Championships. A semi-final is a race before the final, where only the fastest runners move on. She then placed fourth at the 2006 World Junior Championships.

Her big win came in 2007. She won the gold medal in the hurdles event at the European Athletics Junior Championships. That same year, she set a new Russian junior record for the 60 metres hurdles. She finished the race in just 8.22 seconds. This record stood for five years.

Olympic Journey and Relay Races

Aleksandra represented Russia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She was part of the 4x100 metres relay team. A relay race involves a team of runners, each running a part of the distance. They pass a baton to each other.

Her teammates were Yuliya Chermoshanskaya, Yulia Gushchina, and Yevgeniya Polyakova. In their first race, they came in second place. They had a very fast time of 42.87 seconds.

In the final race, the Russian team finished in 42.31 seconds. They crossed the finish line first and won the gold medal. However, in 2016, the team's Olympic gold medal was taken away. This happened because one of her teammates had a rule violation.

Moving to Longer Sprints

In 2009, Aleksandra started to focus on longer sprint distances. At the 2009 European Athletics U23 Championships, she won the 200 metres title. The U23 Championships are for athletes under 23 years old.

She also competed in the 60 metres hurdles at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. She reached the semi-finals in this event.

Aleksandra had more success in longer sprints during the outdoor season. She won a bronze medal in the 200 metres at the 2010 European Athletics Championships. A bronze medal means she finished in third place. She also won a gold medal for Europe in the 200 metres at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup.

The next year, in 2011, she won another bronze medal. This was in the 100 metres at the European Team Championships. She also reached the semi-finals in the 100 metres at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics. She helped her team finish fifth in the women's relay race at that competition.

Indoor Success and Later Competitions

Aleksandra started competing in the 400 metres indoors in 2012. This was at the Russian Championships. She won the final race with a time of 51.18 seconds. This was a very close and exciting race.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Aleksandra competed in the 200 metres. She finished third in her semi-final race. This meant she could not move on to the final race.
