About Alex Campos
His Early Life
Alex Campos was born on September 10, 1976. He grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and is the oldest of four brothers. When he was twelve years old, he started going to a local Christian church. By the time he was 14, he joined his first music group. In this group, he played the recorder.
His Music Career
Alex Campos started his own music group called Misión Vida when he was 17. The band included Esteban Machuca and Freud Romero.
His first album was recorded live in Bogotá. It was called Tiempo de la Cruz, which means Time of the Cross. After that, he released a studio album named Al Taller del Maestro (To the Master's Workshop). Alex dedicated this album to God. He believed God had healed a tumor in his throat.
He then released a live version of Al Taller del Maestro. Next came albums like Como un Niño (Like a Child), El Sonido del Silencio (The Sound of Silence), and Cuidaré de Ti (I'll Take Care of You).
In 2007, Alex Campos and Misión Vida performed at La Mina Music Fest in Juncos, Puerto Rico. He also sang a duet with Jesus Adrian Romero called "Razones Pa' Vivir." This song was on Romero's album Ayer Te Vi... Fue Más Claro Que La Luna.
Alex Campos has held concerts to help raise money for an organization called Misión Child. He was the first Christian singer to sell out a concert at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. About 12,000 people attended this concert! His seventh album, Te Puedo Sentir, was a live concert recording.
He recorded an album called Lenguaje de Amor (Language of Love). This album helped him win his first Latin Grammy Award. In 2012, Campos released Regreso a Ti (Return to You). In 2015, he put out a live studio album titled Derroche De Amor (Waste of Love).
His Family Life
