Alex Mineiro, whose full name is Alexander Pereira Cardoso, is a former professional football player from Brazil. He was born on March 15, 1975, in Belo Horizonte. Alex Mineiro played as a striker, which means he was a forward player whose main job was to score goals for his team. He played for many different clubs during his career, mostly in Brazil, but also in Mexico and Japan.

Alex Mineiro started his football journey in the youth team of América-MG from 1994 to 1995. He then began his professional career in 1996 with the same club.

After playing for América-MG, Alex Mineiro joined Cruzeiro in 1997. With Cruzeiro, he helped the team win the Copa Libertadores in 1997, which is a very important club competition in South America.
