Alexander Belostenny (Ukrainian: Олександр Михайлович Білостінний; Russian: Александр Михайлович Белостенный) was a professional basketball player from Ukraine. He was born on February 24, 1959, and passed away on May 25, 2010.
Belostenny was a very tall player, standing at 2.16 meters (about 7 feet 1 inch). He played in the important "center" position on the court. He was a key member of the Soviet national team for many years, from 1977 to 1992.

Playing for Clubs
Alexander Belostenny spent most of his club career playing for Budivelnyk in Kyiv. He helped them win their only Soviet Union League championship in 1989.
Later in his career, he played for a German team called HERZOGtel Trier. He also played in a European competition called the FIBA Korać Cup. In 1979, he was chosen to be part of the FIBA European Selection, which means he was one of the best players in Europe.
