Discovering Alexander Heights' Name
Alexander Heights got its name in 1987. Before that, in 1977, it was called "Alinjarra". This was an Aboriginal word meaning "north".
The current name comes from Alexander Drive. This is a main road that runs along the eastern side of the suburb. Alexander Drive itself was named after Mr S.B. Alexander. He was an important member of the Wanneroo Road Board in the past.

Alexander Heights is home to Alinjarra Primary School. This school teaches students from kindergarten all the way to Year 6. It offers many sports programs. The school also has English courses. These courses help new families who have moved to the area.
