Alexandra "Xan" Cassavetes, born on September 21, 1965, is an American actress and director. She comes from a family deeply involved in movies. Her father was the famous Greek-American actor and director John Cassavetes. Her mother is the talented actress Gena Rowlands.
Alexandra's grandmother, Katherine Cassavetes, was also an actress. She has two siblings, Nick Cassavetes and Zoe Cassavetes, who are both actors, writers, and directors too.
Alexandra Cassavetes directed a documentary film in 2004 called Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession. This film explored the important history of a cable television station called Z Channel. The movie was highly praised and was even shown at the famous Cannes Film Festival. In 2012, Alexandra wrote and directed her first movie with a story, a vampire film called Kiss of the Damned.
