Alexandro Alves do Nascimento (born December 30, 1974 – died November 14, 2012), known as Alex Alves, was a talented Brazilian footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was a forward player whose main job was to score goals.
Alex Alves played for many different football clubs during his career. In Brazil, he played for teams like Vitória, Palmeiras, and Cruzeiro. He also played internationally, joining the German club Hertha BSC and the Greek team Kavala. He even played for a Chinese team called Shenyang Ginde.

Alex Alves was known for his incredible skills on the field. In 2000, he scored a truly memorable goal that was named the Goal of the Year in Germany. This amazing moment happened while he was playing for Hertha BSC against 1. FC Köln.
