First Socialist in Congress

In 1902, Palacios was chosen to be part of the Buenos Aires local government. Just two years later, in 1904, he made history. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies. This made him the very first socialist to be elected to the Argentine Congress. It also made him the first socialist in any congress in the entire American continent! Being a socialist meant he believed in fairness for everyone. He wanted to make sure workers and ordinary citizens had good rights and opportunities.

His Important Political Roles
