Ali Saip Ursavaş, also known as Ali Saib Bey, was an important figure in Turkish history. He was born in 1885 in Rowanduz and passed away on September 25, 1939, in Adana. He was an officer from Iraq and Turkey, with Kurdish heritage.
Ali Saip Ursavaş served in both the Ottoman and Turkish armies. After his military career, he became one of the first important members of the CHP. This party played a big role in forming the modern Republic of Turkey. He was also an important politician in the new Republic of Turkey.
In 1925, he was chosen to be a prosecutor at the Independence Tribunal in Diyarbakır. This court was set up to deal with the Sheikh Said rebellion, a major uprising at the time. Ali Saip Ursavaş played a role in the legal decisions made during this rebellion. Later, he became the president of this important court.
A Life of Service
Ali Saip Ursavaş had a long career serving his country. He started in the Ottoman Empire's army in 1908. He continued his service when Turkey became a republic in 1919.
