Alice Hanratty (1939–2025) was an Irish artist. She was known for her special skill in printmaking, especially a technique called etching.
About Alice Hanratty's Life
Alice Hanratty was born in Dublin, Ireland. She studied art at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. She also went to the Hornsey College of Art in London. In the late 1960s, she worked for a while in East Africa. This experience had some influence on her artwork.
Alice was a member of Aosdána. This is a special group for important Irish artists. For some time, she was also part of its main committee, called the Toscaireacht.
Her Art Exhibitions
Alice Hanratty showed her art in many big group shows in Ireland. She also represented Ireland at important exhibitions around the world. For example, her work was shown at:
- The International Impact Exhibition in Kyoto, Japan, in 1989.
- The Works on Paper Group Exhibition in New York, USA, in 1992.
- The London Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1995.

Alice Hanratty passed away in May 2025.
