  • La Casa de placer honesto (1620) – This translates to 'The House of Honest Pleasure'.
  • Don Diego de Noche (1623) – Meaning 'Don Diego of the Night'.
  • El Curioso y fabio Alexandro (1634) – This book was a funny collection of character descriptions.

Later Life and Legacy

Alonso Jerónimo de Salas Barbadillo passed away in Madrid on 10 July 1635. He lived a life dedicated to writing.

His stories were very popular. Some of his works were even translated into English and French. A French writer named Paul Scarron used La Ingeniosa Elena as inspiration for his own play, Hypocrites.

Experts have praised his writing. The Encyclopædia Britannica said he was very popular because of his funny writing style. They also noted his creative ideas and clear way of writing.
