Alonzo Lawrence (born October 15, 1989) is an American former professional football player. He played as a defensive back. Alonzo played for several teams, including the Detroit Lions, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts, and Edmonton Eskimos.

Early Life and College Football
Alonzo Lawrence grew up in Lucedale, Mississippi. He went to George County High School there.
College Journey
Alonzo started his college football journey at the University of Alabama. After a year, he moved to the University of Southern Mississippi. He did not play football during his time there.
Later, he played two years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. In 2011, he was named an NJCAA All-American. This means he was recognized as one of the best junior college players in the country.
Alonzo Lawrence's Pro Career
Alonzo Lawrence played professional football for several teams. He spent time in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Detroit Lions (NFL)
The Detroit Lions signed Alonzo on April 30, 2012. He was with the team for a while before being released on June 22, 2014.
Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL)
Alonzo then joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Canada. He signed with them on August 27, 2012. He spent the 2012 season on their practice squad. This means he trained with the team but did not play in official games.
Toronto Argonauts (CFL)
On May 29, 2013, Alonzo signed with the Toronto Argonauts. During the 2013 season, he played very well. He was even named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week Seven. The Argonauts released him on June 21, 2014.
Edmonton Eskimos (CFL)
Alonzo's last professional team was the Edmonton Eskimos. He signed with them on July 14, 2014. He played with the Eskimos until he was released on June 13, 2015.
