Alonzo Lawrence's Early Life and College Years
Alonzo Lawrence grew up in Lucedale, Mississippi. He went to George County High School there.
College Football Journey
Alonzo started his college football journey at the University of Alabama. After a year, he moved to the University of Southern Mississippi. He did not play in games there. Later, he played two years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He was a very good player there. In 2011, he was named an NJCAA All-American. This means he was one of the best players in junior college football.

Alonzo Lawrence played for teams in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Time with the Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions signed Alonzo on April 30, 2012. This was his first professional team. He was with the Lions for a short time. They released him on June 22, 2012.
Playing in the CFL
Alonzo then moved to the Canadian Football League. He signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on August 27, 2012. He spent the 2012 season on the Roughriders' practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but do not usually play in games.
He later joined the Toronto Argonauts on May 29, 2013. During the 2013 season, Alonzo played very well. He was even named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week Seven. The Argonauts released him on June 21, 2014.
Alonzo's last team was the Edmonton Eskimos. He signed with them on July 14, 2014. He played with the Eskimos until June 13, 2015, when he was released.
