Amanda Blank grew up in Germantown, a neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was born there in 1983. Amanda and her sisters lived in a row house, which is a type of house connected to others in a row. Her parents were both artists. Amanda chose her stage name, Amanda Blank, because she liked the character Jerri Blank from the TV show Strangers with Candy.

Amanda Blank often works with another rapper named Naeem. They have made several songs together. One of their well-known songs is "Bump" from the album YoYoYoYoYo, released in 2006.
