Amanda Rose Keller is a well-known Australian TV and radio presenter. She is also a comedian, writer, and actress. Many people know her as the host of the popular TV show The Living Room. Amanda also co-hosts a radio show called Jonesy & Amanda with Brendan Jones on Gold 101.7. Since 2019, she has also co-hosted Dancing with the Stars with Grant Denyer on Network 10.

Amanda's Early Life and School
Amanda Keller went to Carlingford High School. After that, she studied at Mitchell College of Advanced Education. She earned a degree in Communications in 1982. While at university, she was friends with other future media stars like Andrew Denton. She also worked at the campus radio station, 2MCE-FM.
Amanda's Career in Media
Amanda Keller started her media career in 1983. Her first job was as a researcher for a children's TV show called Simon Townsend's Wonder World!. She then worked as a researcher and producer for Good Morning Australia.
By 1985, she was working on Ray Martin's Midday show. This is where she first started appearing on TV regularly.
Becoming a Science TV Star
In 1987, Amanda joined Beyond 2000. This was a very popular science TV show watched around the world. On this show, she won several awards. These included the United Nations Association of Australia's Media Peace Award in 1989. She also won the Michael Daley Award for Science Journalism.
Radio and Other TV Shows
In 1994, Amanda became a regular guest on Andrew Denton's TV show, Denton. She used her science knowledge and her love for pop culture on the show. She even wrote a book called Amanda's Handy Home Hints.
After Denton finished, she joined Andrew Denton at Triple M radio station. They hosted the breakfast show together. At the same time, she hosted her own pop culture show on cable TV called The Hub.
In 2004, she hosted another pop culture show called Mondo Thingo. In 2006, Amanda was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. She made it to the fifth round of the competition.
Acting and Quiz Shows
Amanda also showed her acting skills. In 2008, she appeared in the SBS TV series Swift and Shift Couriers. She played Amanda Doyle, the Regional Manager. She returned for the second season in 2011. In 2011, she also had a small part in another SBS TV show called Housos.
From 2009 to 2012, Amanda was a team leader on Network Ten's quiz show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation. She led the Baby Boomers team.
In 2017, Amanda became one of the highest-paid women in Australian radio. That same year, she made a brief appearance as a news reporter on the TV show The Bold and the Beautiful. She was on screen with Brendan Jones and Ita Buttrose.
She was honored in 2017 by being inducted into the Australian Commercial Radio Hall of Fame.
Amanda has also appeared on many other popular TV shows. These include Good News Week, Rove Live, The Glass House, Spicks and Specks, and The Project.
In July 2024, Amanda was announced as the host for the ABC factual series The Role of a Lifetime. She also hosted the first Australian series of The Piano in 2025.
Amanda's Personal Life
Amanda Keller is a big fan of the Sydney Roosters rugby league team.
She is married to Harley Oliver, and they have two adult sons. They live in the seaside suburb of Coogee in Sydney. In October 2023, Amanda shared that her husband, Harley, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
Other Interesting Facts
Amanda is the patron of The Sydney Kids Committee. This is a group of volunteers who raise money for the Sydney Children's Hospital.
She holds a world record for the longest underwater radio broadcast! On October 28, 2010, she and her radio co-host Brendan Jones spent over three hours underwater at Sydney Aquarium.
In 2016, Amanda was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). This is a special honor given to people who have done great things for Australia.
