Amanda Setton (born December 16, 1985) is an American actress. She is famous for playing Penelope Shafai in the teen drama series Gossip Girl. She also starred as Kimberly Andrews on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live and as Brook Lynn Quartermaine on another ABC soap opera, General Hospital.
In 2011, she acted in her first Off-Broadway play, a comedy called Love, Loss, and What I Wore. She was also a main character in the first season of the comedy show The Mindy Project.

Early Life and Education
Amanda Setton was born in New York City and grew up in Great Neck. In high school, she was very involved in acting and was the vice president of the school's theater club.
Setton is Jewish. Her father's family has Syrian-Jewish roots, and her mother's family has Ashkenazi Jewish roots.
She went to Ithaca College and studied drama, graduating in 2007. During college, she spent a semester studying in Barcelona, Spain. She also completed a two-year acting program at The Actor's Workshop of Ithaca, where she learned the Meisner technique, a special method of acting.
Acting Career
From 2008 to 2012, Setton played the recurring role of Penelope Shafai in the popular teen show Gossip Girl. She also had small parts in the 2008 movies ... and the City and What Happens in Vegas.
Daytime Television Roles
On August 14, 2009, Setton joined the cast of the ABC soap opera One Life to Live as Kimberly Andrews. A soap opera is a type of TV drama that follows the lives of many characters. She left the show in 2010 but returned in August 2011 for a few months.
In 2019, she was cast as Brook Lynn Quartermaine on the long-running soap opera General Hospital. This role reunited her with executive producer Frank Valentini, who was also her boss on One Life to Live.
Primetime Television and Other Work
After her first run on Gossip Girl, Setton appeared in other major TV shows. In 2011, she had a memorable role in an episode of the police drama Blue Bloods.
In 2012, she was a main character, Shauna Dicanio, on the comedy series The Mindy Project. The following year, she appeared in the first episode of the crime drama Golden Boy and was cast in the CBS comedy The Crazy Ones. She also had a recurring role as Dr. Mindy Shaw in the fifth season of Hawaii Five-0.
