The Journey of Ambrose Brook

Where Does Ambrose Brook Start?

Ambrose Brook begins its journey in Edison, New Jersey. It actually starts flowing from underneath a road called Route 27. From there, it quickly flows into a pretty lake known as Lake Papaianni.

Flowing Through Middlesex County

After leaving Lake Papaianni, the brook continues to flow towards the northwest. It runs alongside another road, County Route 529. The brook then crosses Route 529 and Ethel Road West. Here, it forms a natural boundary for some businesses in Piscataway. One of these businesses is William Kenyon and Sons, Inc.

Lakes and Parks Along the Way

The Ambrose Brook then flows into another lake, Lake Nelson. After this lake, the brook changes direction. It starts flowing more towards the west. It enters Ambrose Doty's Park, a nice green area. Another small stream, Doty's Brook, joins Ambrose Brook near Behmer Road in Piscataway.

The brook then flows through undeveloped land. It goes under a big highway, Interstate 287, near Possumtown Road. It keeps flowing west until it reaches a pond. This pond is located in Victor Crowell Park in Middlesex, New Jersey.

Where Ambrose Brook Ends

Finally, the brook takes a turn towards the southwest. It flows into the Green Brook near Lincoln Boulevard in Middlesex. This meeting happens just before the Green Brook joins the larger Raritan River.
