Anastasia Ilyinichna Bliznyuk (born June 28, 1994) is a famous Russian rhythmic gymnast and coach. She is known for winning many medals in group rhythmic gymnastics.

Anastasia won two gold medals at the Olympic Games in the Group All-around event. She won in 2012 and 2016. She also earned a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics. She is a world champion from 2017 and a three-time European champion. Anastasia is the only rhythmic gymnast to win three Olympic medals.

Anastasia Bliznyuk was part of the Russian Group that won gold at the 2012 European Championships. They also won at the World Cup Final in Minsk, Belarus.

2012 London Olympics

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Anastasia and her team won a gold medal. They competed in the group all-around event. The team included Uliana Donskova, Ksenia Dudkina, Alina Makarenko, Anastasia Nazarenko, and Karolina Sevastyanova.

2013 Season and Challenges

At the start of 2013, Anastasia had an injury. She later returned to compete with the Russian Group. They won a silver medal in the all-around at the Sofia World Cup. They also won gold in the 2 ribbons/3 balls final.

At the Minsk World Cup, they won gold in the all-around. They also took silver in 2 ribbons/3 balls and bronze in 10 clubs. Anastasia and her team won all the gold medals at the 2013 Summer Universiade. This included the All-around, 10 clubs, and 2 ribbons/3 balls events.

The Russian Group also won gold medals at the 2013 World Cup Final in St. Petersburg, Russia. At the 2013 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, they won a bronze medal in the Group All-around. They also won gold in the 2 Ribbon + 3 Balls final.

Recovery and Coaching

In 2014, Anastasia had an infection and needed time to recover. After getting healthy, she started coaching a Russian reserve team. She began training again in 2015.

2016 Comeback and Rio Olympics

In 2016, Anastasia returned to competitive gymnastics. She joined the Russian group again and competed at the 2016 Moscow Grand Prix. She also took part in the 2016 FIG World Cup events.

Anastasia and the Russian group won group gold at the 2016 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Holon, Israel. From August 19–21, Anastasia was part of the Russian group that won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This made her one of only three group rhythmic gymnasts to win two Olympic gold medals.

2017 Team Captaincy

In 2017, Anastasia continued her career and became the team captain for the Russian national group. They competed at the 2017 Grand Prix Moscow. They won gold in the group all-around and 3 balls + 2 ropes. They also earned a silver medal in 5 hoops.

At the 2017 Pesaro World Cup, they finished 4th in the all-around. They won silver with 3 balls and 2 ropes. They also competed at the 2017 Tashkent World Cup. There, they won gold in the all-around and gold with hoops. They also earned bronze with balls and ropes.

The team participated in The Alina Festival. They also competed at the 2017 Portimao World Cup, winning several silver medals. At the 2017 Grand Prix Holon, they won silver in the all-around and golds in the event finals.

They also competed at the 2017 Guadalajara World Cup. They won gold in the all-around and with balls and ropes. At the 2017 Berlin World Cup, they won all the gold medals. Their last World Cup was the 2017 Kazan World Cup, where they also won all the gold medals.

At the 2017 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Pesaro, they won gold in the all-around. They also won gold with balls and ropes, and silver with hoops.

2018 Season

In 2018, Anastasia started her season at the 2018 Grand Prix Moscow. They won gold in the group all-around and 3 balls + 2 ropes. They also took a silver medal in 5 hoops.

Anastasia had another injury but returned at the 2018 Grand Prix Holon. There, they won gold in the all-around and with balls and ropes. They competed at the 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Guadalajara, Spain. They won gold in the all-around and bronze with 5 hoops.

2020 Tokyo Olympics

On July 5, 2021, Anastasia was chosen to represent Russia at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. This was her third Olympic Games. She was part of the Russian group with Anastasia Tatareva, Alisa Tishchenko, Anastasia Maksimova, and Angelina Shkatova.

The Russian group competed in the World Challenge Cup Moscow 2021. They won gold in all events. At the 2020 Olympics, the Russian group earned the silver medal in the general competition. This was the first time in 25 years that Russia did not win gold in group rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympics.

2021 World Championships and Coaching

From October 29 to 31, 2021, Anastasia competed in the 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan. This was her third World Championship. Her team, which included Alisa Tishchenko, Maria Tolkacheva, Polina Orlova, and Angelina Shkatova, won gold in the team competition. They also won gold in the 5-ball final and silver in the mixed final.

Since late 2022, Anastasia Bliznyuk has been a technique coach for the Chinese national rhythmic gymnastics team. The Chinese team won a gold medal in the Group All-around Final at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
