Andre Jerome "Bubba" Caldwell (born April 15, 1985) is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver and kickoff returner in the National Football League (NFL). Caldwell played college football for the Florida Gators. There, he helped his team win a national championship. He was picked in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft. He played professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos. With the Broncos, he won Super Bowl 50.

Early Life and High School Sports
Andre Caldwell was born in Tampa, Florida in 1985. He went to Jefferson High School in Tampa. At school, he played football and ran track.
In high school football, he played quarterback, receiver, and returned punts. In his final year, he became the starting quarterback. He gained over 2,220 yards and scored 38 touchdowns. He led his team to the Florida Class 4A state championship game. He was named an All-American by Parade and USA Today. He also played in the 2003 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Experts at Rivals.com thought he was the best wide receiver in the country in 2003.
Andre was also a great runner in track. He ran the 100 meters in 10.39 seconds, winning a regional title. He also ran the 200 meters.
College Football Career
Caldwell received a scholarship to play for the University of Florida in Gainesville. He played for coaches Ron Zook and Urban Meyer from 2003 to 2007. He chose Florida partly because his brother, Reche Caldwell, also played there. He was also friends with Florida's quarterback, Chris Leak.
As a freshman in 2003, he played a little and had 19 catches. In 2004, his performance improved. He had 43 catches and three touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown. In 2005, he broke his leg early in the season. This meant he couldn't play much that year.
In 2006, he became the team's second-best receiver. He had 57 catches, 577 yards, and six touchdowns. He even threw a touchdown pass in the 2006 SEC Championship Game. Four weeks later, the Gators beat Ohio State to win their first BCS Championship Game. This was the second national championship for the team.
After winning the championship, Caldwell decided to stay at Florida for his senior year. In 2007, he was a team captain. He had his best year with 761 yards and seven touchdowns on 56 catches. He also ran for a touchdown. He won the Gators' Fergie Ferguson Award for showing great leadership and courage. Caldwell finished his college career with 185 catches. This is still the most catches in Gators history.
He earned his college degree in sociology in December 2007.

Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals picked Andre Caldwell in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft. He played for the Bengals for four seasons, from 2008 to 2011. In his first year, he helped as a receiver and kickoff returner.
In 2009, Caldwell caught his first career touchdown. It was a game-winning touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A few weeks later, he caught another game-winning touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens with only 20 seconds left. He finished the 2009 season with 51 catches and three touchdowns. In 2010, he had 25 catches. In 2011, he had 37 catches and three touchdowns.
Denver Broncos
Caldwell signed a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos in March 2012. He played in eight games in 2012. In 2013, he had 16 catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns.
The Broncos signed him again for two more years in 2014. In 2014, he played in all 16 games. In 2015, Caldwell had 10 catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns. On February 7, 2016, Caldwell and the Broncos won Super Bowl 50. They beat the Carolina Panthers 24–10. Caldwell had one important catch for 22 yards in the Super Bowl. This catch helped the Broncos get into position to score points early in the game.
Detroit Lions
On May 4, 2016, the Detroit Lions signed Caldwell for one year. However, he was released by the Lions on August 22, 2016.
Personal Life
Andre Caldwell is the younger brother of Reche Caldwell. Reche was also a former NFL wide receiver and a star player for the Florida Gators.
