Early Life and Sports
Andre Shelby was born on December 8, 1966, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. His parents are Lee and Etta Shelby. He went to Jeffersonville High School and graduated in 1985. While in high school, Andre was a talented athlete. He played both football and basketball.
Serving His Country
After high school, Andre Shelby joined the United States Navy. He served his country for 18 years. During his time in the Navy, he worked as a boatswain's mate. This job involved helping to transport troops. He even served during the Gulf War.
In April 2004, Andre had a motorcycle accident. This accident meant he needed to use a wheelchair. Because of this, he retired from the Navy.
Discovering Archery
Andre Shelby found a new passion in 2008: archery. This sport involves shooting arrows at a target using a bow. He quickly became very good at it.
