Andre Walker (born October 19, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois) is a famous hairstylist from the United States. He is well-known for being the personal hairstylist for Oprah Winfrey and for creating Halle Berry's famous short pixie haircut. Andre Walker has also styled hair for other important people like Barbara Bush and Michelle Obama.

Andre Walker grew up in Chicago. His parents were Woodrow Walker Sr. and Fannie Mae Walker. He went to Lindbloom Technical High School and then studied at Pivot Point Academy to learn about hairstyling. After finishing his studies, Walker started working as a hairstylist and opened his own salon in downtown Chicago.

Working with Oprah Winfrey

In 1986, Andre Walker was watching The Oprah Winfrey Show. He decided to write to Oprah Winfrey and sent her a dozen roses, offering to style her hair. Oprah liked his offer and soon, he became her personal hairstylist.

For his amazing work on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Walker won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling seven times! He won in 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, and 2003. He was also nominated for this award seven other times.

In the 1990s, Andre Walker created something very helpful called the Andre Walker Hair Typing System. He made this system to help market his own line of hair care products.
