Andreas Ulmer (born October 30, 1985) is an Austrian football player. He is a defender, which means he helps protect his team's goal. Ulmer was the captain of the Austrian Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg. He played for this club for 16 seasons and won many championships. He also played for the Austrian national team.

Club Career: Andreas Ulmer's Journey in Football
Andreas Ulmer was born in Linz, Austria. He started his professional football journey at the Frank Stronach Academy. His first professional games were for Austria Wien in the 2004–2005 season.
Moving to New Teams
In the summer of 2008, Ulmer joined another club called SV Ried. After a short time there, on January 28, 2009, he moved to Red Bull Salzburg. This move marked the start of a very long and successful period for him.
Success with Red Bull Salzburg
During the 2017–18 season, Red Bull Salzburg had one of their best years in European competitions. They finished first in their Europa League group. This was a record for the club. They then beat strong teams like Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund. This helped them reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, a major European tournament, for the first time ever.
On May 3, 2018, Ulmer played in the Europa League semi-finals against Marseille. Even though his team lost that specific game 1–2, they won overall by a score of 3–2 across two games. This amazing win secured their spot in the 2018 Europa League final.
Leaving Salzburg as a Legend
After the 2023–24 season, Ulmer left Red Bull Salzburg when he was 38 years old. He had played an incredible 582 games for the club over 16 seasons. During his time there, he helped the team win 13 league titles and 9 Austrian Cups. He is truly a legend for the club.
