Andrew James Krakouer (born 4 February 1983 – died 30 March 2025) was a talented Australian rules footballer. He played for the Richmond Football Club and Collingwood Football Club in the top-level Australian Football League (AFL).

Early Life and Football Start
Andrew Krakouer was born in Melbourne in 1983. He came from a family of famous footballers. His father was Jim Krakouer and his uncle was Phil Krakouer. He was also a cousin to Nathan Krakouer, who played for Gold Coast and Port Adelaide.
Andrew started his football journey playing for South Fremantle in the WAFL (West Australian Football League).
AFL Career Highlights
Playing for Richmond
Andrew was chosen by the Richmond Tigers in the 2000 AFL draft. He was the 41st player picked overall. Before playing in the AFL, he played for Richmond's team in the VFL, the Coburg Tigers.
He made his first AFL game in 2001. He played against Essendon at the MCG. In that game, he kicked two goals. Andrew was known as a small forward. He was very good at dodging opponents and scoring goals.
He was one of Richmond's top goal-kickers for several years. He also tackled a lot, showing his effort on the field. In 2004, he made 95 tackles, which was the most for Richmond. His time with the Tigers ended in 2007.
Success in the WAFL
After leaving Richmond, Andrew went back to Western Australia. He joined the Swan Districts team in the WAFL. He had an amazing comeback season in 2010.
That year, he won the Sandover Medal. This award is for the best and fairest player in the WAFL. He also won the Simpson Medal in the WAFL Grand Final. He helped Swan Districts win the premiership in a very close game. He had 42 disposals and kicked four goals, including the winning goal.
Return to the AFL with Collingwood
In 2010, the Collingwood Magpies signed Andrew. This meant he was back in the AFL! He quickly became an important player for Collingwood.
In his first season with Collingwood in 2011, he kicked 35 goals. He also won the 2011 AFL Mark of the Year. This was for an incredible high mark he took in a game. He played in the 2011 Grand Final and kicked three goals.
In 2012, Andrew had a knee injury. But he worked hard and returned to play later that season. He even kicked four goals in a final against Hawthorn. Andrew changed his guernsey number to number three. This was the same number his father, Jim, wore.
Andrew finished his AFL career with Collingwood at the end of the 2013 season. He then played a few more games for West Perth in the WAFL.
