Andrew Joseph Livingston Conners, born on November 12, 1978, is a talented swimmer. He is especially known for his skill in the butterfly stroke. Andrew proudly represented Puerto Rico in the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Andrew's mother is from Puerto Rico. This connection allowed him to compete for Puerto Rico in swimming. Before that, he swam for the United States at the 1997 World University Games. These games are a major international sports event for university students.
Andrew's Swimming Journey
Andrew attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He was a strong swimmer for their college team. In 2001, he was even named the UNLV Sportsman of the Year. This award recognized his excellent athletic achievements and sportsmanship.
Life After Competitive Swimming
After his swimming career, Andrew joined the US Coast Guard in 2008. The Coast Guard is a branch of the United States Armed Forces. They protect the nation's coasts and waterways.
After finishing his basic training, called boot camp, Andrew was stationed in Winchester Bay, Oregon. He then went to a special school in Petaluma, California. This school trained him to be an Information Systems Technician. After completing his training, he was stationed at CAMSPAC Point Reyes, California.
Andrew went to Cypress Falls High School in Houston, Texas, before attending college.
