Andrew Moodie (born November 30, 1967) is a talented Canadian actor and playwright. A playwright is someone who writes plays for the theatre. He is well-known for his plays Riot and Toronto the Good.
His play Riot won the Floyd S. Chalmers Canadian Play Award in 1996. Another play, Toronto the Good, was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award in 2009. The Dora Awards celebrate great theatre in Toronto.

Andrew Moodie was born and grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. His sister, Tanya Moodie, is also an actress.
Andrew started his acting career in the 1980s. He worked with the Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa.

Andrew Moodie has written many plays. Some of his other works include Oui (1998) and Wilbur County Blues (1998). He also wrote A Common Man's Guide to Loving Women (1999) and The Lady Smith (2000). Another play he wrote is The Real McCoy (2006).
He also helped write a radio drama series called Afghanada for CBC Radio.

He won a Dora Award in the Youth Theatre section for his acting. This was for his performance in a play called Health Class. He was also nominated for another Dora Award in 2003 for his role in Othello.
From 2006 to 2011, Andrew Moodie was the host of a TV show. This show was called Big Ideas and it aired on TVOntario. It was a documentary series.
