Tanya Moodie was born in Ottawa, Canada. Her parents came from Jamaica. When she was 17, Tanya moved to England. She got a spot at the RADA. This is a very famous acting school. Later, she even worked there as a teacher and a helper on the school's council.

Tanya Moodie started her TV acting career in 1994. Her first role was in a comedy show called So Haunt Me. In 1996, she played Hunter in the fantasy series Neverwhere.
