Andrew Stockdale mainly plays Gibson guitars. His favorite is a 1974 SG standard. It has a special part called a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. He also uses a 1961 Reissue Gibson SG. For recording the Wolfmother album, he used a borrowed Gibson ES-355 guitar. He played it through a Marshall amplifier from the 1960s. When he plays live shows, he uses a Vox AC30 and a Marshall JMP. In the past, he has also used Orange amplifiers. Stockdale also uses a Fender Stratocaster, but he prefers Gibson guitars. Recently, he has started using a Hohner Blues Master Harmonica microphone for some of his singing.
