Arie Andries "André" van der Louw (born August 9, 1933 – died October 20, 2005) was a Dutch politician and journalist. He was a member of the Labour Party (PvdA). André van der Louw held many important jobs in the Netherlands. He was a mayor, a minister, and even led his political party.

Early Life and Career

André van der Louw was born in The Hague, Netherlands. After finishing school, he began working for the city of The Hague. This was from November 1953 to October 1957.

After his time as a civil servant, André became a journalist. He worked for a broadcasting company called VARA. He was a political editor from 1957 to 1965. Then he became a managing editor until 1971. He also worked as the editor-in-chief for a teen magazine called Hitweek. This was from 1965 to 1969.
