Andrés Arturo García Menéndez (born April 12, 1956), known as Andy García, is an American actor, director, and producer. He became famous for his roles in many movies.
One of his first big roles was in the movie The Untouchables (1987). He also starred in The Godfather Part III (1990), where he played Vincent Mancini. For this role, he was nominated for an Academy Award.
Andy García has appeared in many other popular films. These include Ocean's Eleven (2001) and its sequels, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), and Father of the Bride (2022). He has also directed and produced films. In 2005, he won a Grammy and a Latin Grammy Award for producing a music album.

Early Life and Education
Andy García was born in Havana, Cuba. His mother, Amelie Menéndez, was an English teacher. His father, René García Núñez, was a lawyer. Andy has two older siblings, Tessi and René.
When Andy was five years old, his family moved to Miami, Florida. His family started a successful perfume company there. Andy grew up as a Roman Catholic. He went to Miami Beach Senior High School, where he played basketball. During his last year of high school, he got sick. This made him decide to try acting. He started taking drama classes and later graduated from Florida International University.

His big break came in 1987 with the crime drama The Untouchables. This film was about a team of law enforcement officers trying to stop crime during the Prohibition era. It was a huge success and received many awards. In 1989, García also acted in the action thriller Black Rain.

In 1990, Andy García was cast in The Godfather Part III. He played Vincent Mancini, a key character in the Corleone family story. The movie was a success and earned several Academy Award nominations. Andy himself was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
During the 1990s, García starred in several other films. These included Internal Affairs, where he played a police officer. In 1992, he appeared in Hero. He also played Terry Benedict, a casino owner, in Ocean's Eleven (2001). This movie was a big hit and led to two sequels, Ocean's Twelve (2004) and Ocean's Thirteen (2007), where he also appeared.

Andy García has continued to have a busy career. In 2018, he starred in four films. He was in the musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, where he even sang with Cher. He also appeared in the romantic comedy Book Club and the drama The Mule. He also had a role in the HBO movie My Dinner with Hervé.
In the 2020s, García starred in films like Ana and Words on Bathroom Walls (2020). He also appeared in action films like Redemption Day and Wrath of Man (2021). In 2022, he starred in the comedy Father of the Bride alongside Gloria Estefan. Most recently, he appeared in the action comedy film Expend4bles (2023).
Personal Life
Andy García met his wife, Marivi Lorido, in Miami in the mid-1970s. They dated for seven years before getting married on September 24, 1982. The family lives in both Toluca Lake, Los Angeles and Key Biscayne, Florida.
Andy and Marivi have four children: Dominik, Daniella, Alessandra, and Andrés. Dominik, born in 1983, is also an actress. Daniella, born in 1988, is married and has a daughter. Alessandra, born in 1991, is a model. Their only son, Andrés, born in 2002, is a DJ.
Andy García is a naturalized citizen of the United States. He is also Catholic.
