The Angachilla River is a river located in Chile. This river, along with its surrounding wetlands, flows into the Valdivia River. It connects to the Valdivia River near the San Ramón Peninsula. Some parts of the city of Valdivia are located close to this river.
Protecting the Angachilla Wetlands
Since December 2021, the wetlands around the Angachilla River have been officially recognized as urban wetlands. This means they are protected by a special law called the Urban Wetlands Law. This law helps to keep these important natural areas safe.
Plants in the River
An invasive plant species called Limnobium laevigatum can be found in the Angachilla River. This plant is also known as South American frogbit. Invasive plants are not native to an area and can sometimes harm the local environment by outcompeting native plants.
