Angel Romero is a famous Spanish classical guitarist, conductor, and composer. He was born on August 17, 1946, in Málaga, Spain. Angel is the youngest son of Celedonio Romero, who was also a well-known guitarist. In 1957, his family moved from Spain to the United States. Angel Romero was also a member of the famous guitar quartet called Los Romeros.

Early Life and Amazing Talent
Angel Romero started his professional music career very early. He made his first public performance when he was just six years old. When he was sixteen, he made his debut in the United States. He became the first guitar soloist to play with the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra. During this performance, he played Joaquín Rodrigo's famous Concierto de Aranjuez for the first time on the US West Coast. He also studied how to be a conductor with Eugene Ormandy. Ormandy was the conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Performing and Conducting Around the World
Angel Romero has played as a soloist with many major orchestras. These include the New York Philharmonic and the Cleveland Orchestra. He has also performed with the Royal Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Besides playing the guitar, Angel Romero is also a talented conductor. He has led many orchestras, such as the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. He has also conducted orchestras in Germany, China, and Colombia. Some of these include Germany’s NDR Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Symphoniker. He also conducted the Beijing Philharmonic and the Shanghai Symphony.

Angel Romero has received many important awards for his musical achievements.
- In 2000, he and his brothers, Pepe and Celin, received a very high honor from Spain. They were given the Grand Cross of Isabel la Catolica. This is the highest award Spain can give. They were also knighted for their amazing musical work. This special ceremony took place at the USC Thornton School of Music.
- In 2007, the Recording Academy honored him. This is the group that gives out the Grammy Awards. He received the Recording Academy President’s Merit Award. This award recognized his great contributions to music.

- In 1989, he played the music for the movie The Milagro Beanfield War. This film was directed by the famous Robert Redford.
- In 1994, he wrote and directed the music for the movie Bienvenido-Welcome. For this work, he won the 1995 ARIEL award. This award is like the "Academy Award" in Mexico.
- He also played and recorded the music for the movie By the Sword. This music was composed by Bill Conti.
- Angel Romero even had a small acting role in the movie Bound by Honor. This film was directed by Taylor Hackford.
