Angelina Ballerina is a very popular series of children's books. It's all about a little mouse named Angelina Jeanette Mouseling. She has a big dream: to become a famous ballerina!
The books were created by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig. The very first book in the series came out in 1983. Since then, more than twenty books have been published. The stories take place in a town called Chipping Cheddar. This place is a bit like London was in the 1920s. The name "Angelina" was inspired by an editor named Angela at Aurum Press.
The Angelina Ballerina books have also been turned into two animated TV shows. The first was Angelina Ballerina (from 2002-2006). The second was a computer-animated series called Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps (from 2009–2010). There has even been a live ballet show that toured around!

Future Plans
In 2015, there was talk of making another new Angelina Ballerina series. This project was planned to be a team-up between Mattel (who bought HiT Entertainment) and 9 Story Media Group. A new Barney & Friends show was also announced at the same time. However, no new information about either of these revivals has been shared since then.
