Ann McLaughlin Korologos (born Ann Marie Lauenstein on November 16, 1941) is an American leader in business and government. She is best known for serving as the 19th United States Secretary of Labor from 1987 to 1989. This important role meant she helped lead the U.S. Department of Labor.

Ann McLaughlin's Early Life and Education
Ann Marie Lauenstein was born in Chatham Borough, New Jersey. Her father worked in manufacturing. She went to school at Saint Patrick School and the Academy of Saint Elizabeth.
She studied at Marymount College, Tarrytown of Fordham University. During her studies, she spent a year learning in London. Later, she earned a special business degree (an EMBA) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She has also received several honorary degrees from different universities.
Her Career in Government
Ann McLaughlin Korologos has held many important jobs in the U.S. government. In the early 1970s, she worked as a press secretary for President Nixon's second inauguration.
Before becoming the Secretary of Labor, she served in other key roles. She was the Under Secretary of the United States Department of the Interior. This department manages federal lands and natural resources. She also worked as the Under Secretary of the United States Department of the Treasury. This department deals with money and finances for the country.
In 1987, President Ronald Reagan chose her to be the United States Secretary of Labor. In this role, she was in charge of the department that helps workers and businesses. She served until 1989.
Leadership in Business and Other Groups
After her time in government, Ann McLaughlin Korologos continued to be a leader. From 1990 to 1995, she led the Federal City Council. This group focuses on making Washington, D.C., a better place for business and community.
She was also the chair of the Aspen Institute from 1996 to 2000. This organization works on important topics like leadership and ideas. She served on the board of directors for major companies like Microsoft and the Kellogg Company. She also chaired the board of trustees for the RAND Corporation.
Personal Life
Ann McLaughlin Korologos was previously married to political commentator John McLaughlin. She is now married to Tom C. Korologos, who was a U.S. Ambassador to Belgium.
The Ann Korologos Gallery
Ann Korologos is also very interested in art. In 2007, she bought an art gallery in Basalt, Colorado. In 2009, the gallery moved to a bigger space and she changed its name to the Ann Korologos Gallery.
The gallery shows contemporary Western American Art. This type of art often features landscapes, animals, and people from the American West. It includes works by artists who are inspired by this region.
