Annalisa Scarrone (born August 5, 1985), known simply as Annalisa, is a famous Italian singer, songwriter, and music producer. She first became well-known after finishing second in the Italian TV talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi in 2011.

Annalisa has taken part in the important Sanremo Music Festival six times. She placed in the top three twice, in 2018 and 2024. In 2023, her song "Mon amour" became number one in Italy. This made her the first female solo artist to reach the top spot in over three years.

She has won many awards, including a Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music 2024. She was the first Italian artist to receive this special award. Annalisa has released 8 albums and 45 singles. She has sold over 4.8 million copies in Italy, making her the best-selling Italian female artist. She has also written songs for other artists and worked with many famous musicians. In 2024, an asteroid was even named Annalisa in her honor!

Early Life and Education

Annalisa Scarrone grew up in Carcare, Italy. She started learning music and singing from a young age. When she was 13, she began working as a bartender and musician. Annalisa later studied at the University of Turin and earned a degree in physics in 2009. She got married in 2023.

Annalisa's music career really took off in 2011. She competed in the 10th season of the TV talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi. She finished in second place and also won the critics' prize.

Her first album, Nali, came out in March 2011. It quickly reached number 2 on the Italian album charts and became a platinum-selling album. Her first single, "Diamante lei e luce lui", also did very well, reaching number nine and earning a gold certification.

In 2012, she released her second album, Mentre tutto cambia. The song "Senza riserva" from this album became platinum. Annalisa also sang "Pirati" for the Italian version of the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift.

She first participated in the Sanremo Music Festival 2013 with the song "Scintille". Her third album, Non so ballare, was released around the same time and reached number six on the charts.

In 2015, Annalisa competed in the Sanremo Music Festival 2015 again with "Una finestra tra le stelle", finishing fourth. This song was part of her fourth album, Splende, which came out in February 2015. "Una finestra tra le stelle" was certified platinum.

She returned to the Sanremo Music Festival 2016 with "Il diluvio universale". This song was featured on her fifth album, Se avessi un cuore, which reached number four in Italy. The title track, "Se avessi un cuore", also earned a gold certification.

In 2018, Annalisa released her album Bye Bye. It reached number two on the charts and became platinum. She also competed in the Sanremo Music Festival 2018 with "Il mondo prima di te", finishing third. Other popular songs from this album included "Bye Bye" and "Un domani" with Mr. Rain, both becoming platinum hits.

Her seventh album, Nuda, was released in 2020. She participated in the Sanremo Music Festival 2021 with "Dieci", which was certified double platinum. In 2021, "Movimento lento" was released and became triple platinum, reaching number 8 on the Italian singles chart.

In 2022, Annalisa was featured on Boomdabash's song "Tropicana", which reached number 3 and became quadruple platinum.

On September 2, 2022, she released "Bellissima". Annalisa described it as her "first step into a new world." The song reached number 7 in Italy and was certified quintuple platinum. It became very popular on TikTok, being the second most used song on the app in Italy in 2023.

In March 2023, Annalisa released "Mon amour". She said it was the next part of the story from "Bellissima." This song was certified five times platinum and became her first number one single in Italy. It was also the most used song on TikTok in Italy in 2023.

In May 2023, she released "Disco Paradise" with Fedez and Articolo 31. This song reached number three and was certified quintuple platinum.

Her eighth studio album, E poi siamo finiti nel vortice, was released in September 2023. It became her first album to reach number one on the Italian charts and was certified double platinum. The single "Ragazza sola" from this album also did well, reaching number 21 and becoming platinum.

In November 2023, "Euforia" was released as a single from the album. Annalisa also performed a Christmas song, a cover of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)", for an Amazon movie.

Annalisa competed in the Sanremo Music Festival 2024 with "Sinceramente", finishing in third place. The song reached number two and was certified quadruple platinum. In May 2024, she was featured on Tedua's song "Beatrice", which became her second number one single. In June 2024, she released "Storie brevi" with Tananai, which reached number 2 and was certified double platinum.
