Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber (born September 21, 1947, died December 23, 2015) was a talented Canadian artist. She was famous for creating art using fabrics and fibers. Her artwork often explored ideas about women's rights and important topics happening in the world.

Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber's Early Life and Learning
Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber first earned a five-year teaching certificate from Bern, Switzerland. Later, she studied art more deeply. She took drawing and painting classes with an artist named George Glenn in Prince Albert. After these classes, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber's Artistic Journey
Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber started her art career after meeting two important people. One was Margaret VanWalsem at an art exhibition in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The other was George Glenn, who was a special artist working in Prince Albert at the time. Buchmann-Gerber said that George Glenn really helped her grow as an artist.
Creating with Textiles
In her early work, Buchmann-Gerber focused a lot on textiles. She used weaving and stitching to make beautiful tapestries. These were like woven pictures made from different threads and fabrics.
Helping the Arts Community
Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber was also very active in the art world. She was one of the people who helped start The Saskatchewan Craft Council. This group supports artists and craftspeople in Saskatchewan. She also served on the board for The Mendel Art Gallery and The Saskatchewan Craft Council.
Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber passed away in Saskatoon. Her ashes were returned to Oberburg, Switzerland for burial.
