Where the Anoia River Starts

The Anoia River begins its journey in the municipality of Veciana, which is also in the Anoia region. It starts at a high point, about 650 metres (2,130 ft) above sea level. This is where the river's waters first gather.

The River's Path

As the Anoia River flows, it travels through several towns and natural areas.

  • It passes through the city of Igualada, which is a major town in the region.
  • After Igualada, the river crosses a mountain range called the Prelitoral Range. It goes through a specific spot near Capellades.
  • Next, the river continues its path through Gelida, a town located in the Alt Penedès area.

Where the Anoia River Ends

The Anoia River doesn't flow into the sea directly. Instead, it joins a larger river called the Llobregat River. This meeting point is near the town of Martorell, which is in the Baix Llobregat region. The Anoia River flows into the Llobregat from the right side.
