Ansó is a charming town and a larger area called a municipality. It is found in the province of Huesca, which is part of the Aragon region in Spain. A municipality is like a local government area that includes a main town and sometimes smaller villages nearby.
In 2004, a count of people (called a census) showed that about 523 people lived in the Ansó municipality. This area includes both the town of Ansó itself and another small town called Fago, which is about 7 kilometers away.
Geography of Ansó
The municipality of Ansó covers the entire valle de Ansó, which means the Ansó Valley. This valley is located high up in the famous Pyrenees mountains. The Pyrenees form a natural border between Spain and France.
The town of Ansó is built on the left side of the Veral river. This river flows down from tall mountains that reach more than 2,000 meters (or about 6,500 feet) into the sky. The area is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including clear rivers and impressive mountain peaks.
