Ante Ćorić (born April 14, 1997) is a professional football player from Croatia. He plays as an attacking midfielder for the Croatian club Varaždin. Ante also played for the Croatian national team a few times between 2016 and 2017.

Club Career Highlights

Starting Young

Ante Ćorić began playing football at just 5 years old with a club called Hrvatski Dragovoljac. When he was 9, he moved to the youth team of NK Zagreb.

In 2009, at age 12, he joined the youth academy of Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. Many big clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Barcelona were interested in him. But Ante chose Salzburg because he felt the training was better there. He said he was impressed by how welcoming everyone was.

After four years in Salzburg, Ante came back to Croatia in 2013. He signed with Dinamo Zagreb.

Playing for Dinamo Zagreb

Ante Ćorić made his first appearance for Dinamo Zagreb's senior team on April 16, 2014. He was only 17 years old. Soon after, he scored his first goal for the team.

On September 18, 2014, Ante made history! He scored a goal in a Europa League game against Astra Giurgiu. This made him the youngest player ever to score in the Europa League. He was 17 years and 157 days old.

During his time at Dinamo Zagreb, Ante played in 143 games. He helped his team win the Croatian league title four times and the Croatian Cup two times. In 2015, he was even named "Croatian Hope of the Year," which is a special award for young talented players.

Moving to Roma and Loan Spells

In May 2018, Ante Ćorić joined the Italian club Roma. He signed a five-year contract.

After joining Roma, Ante went on loan to several other clubs to get more playing time.

  • In 2019, he played for Almería in Spain.
  • In 2020, he moved to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands.
  • In 2021, he joined Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia.
  • From 2021 to 2022, he played for Zürich in Switzerland.

Back in Croatia

In January 2024, Ante Ćorić returned to Croatia. He signed a contract with the club Rudeš. Later in 2024, he joined Varaždin.

Ante Ćorić played for various Croatian youth national teams from 2012 to 2016. He made his first appearance for the senior Croatian national team on May 27, 2016.

He was chosen to be part of Croatia's team for the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament.

Personal Life

Ante Ćorić was born in Zagreb, Croatia. His parents are from Široki Brijeg. His father, Miljenko, is also involved in football as a manager. Ante started attending training sessions with his father from a very young age.
