Anthony Dobbins was born on August 23, 1981. He is an American-Italian professional basketball coach. He used to be a basketball player. Currently, he works as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics. This team plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Playing Basketball in Europe

Anthony Dobbins played for many teams in Europe. On August 6, 2013, he joined JDA Dijon in France. He played for them during the 2013–14 season. At the end of that season, he was named the French League's Best Defensive Player. This was a big award for him.

On July 17, 2014, Dobbins signed with another French team, Strasbourg IG. He played for them in the 2014–15 season.

Later, on November 13, 2015, he moved to Italy. He signed with Viola Reggio Calabria for the 2015–16 Serie A2 Basket season.

On September 8, 2016, he returned to France to play for BCM Gravelines. He played seven league games and three FIBA Europe Cup games with them. On November 6, 2016, he left Gravelines. Then, on December 17, 2016, he went back to Italy. He signed with Scafati Basket in the Italian Serie A2 league.

Coaching for the Boston Celtics

In 2020, Anthony Dobbins became an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics. Before this, he had worked with the Celtics' video team for two years. As an assistant coach, Dobbins helped the Celtics win a major championship. The Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in 5 games in the 2024 NBA Finals. This made him an NBA champion as a coach.
