Anthony Little was born on November 6, 1980, in Mullewa, Western Australia. He is an Australian boxer who competed as a lightweight. Anthony is a left-handed boxer from Geraldton, Western Australia. He started boxing when he was 13 years old. Anthony was recognized as the Aboriginal Sports Star of the Year three times: in 2000, 2001, and 2002. He also made history as the first Indigenous boxer from Western Australia to compete in the Olympic Games.

Olympic Appearances

Athens 2004

Anthony competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. In his first fight, he won against Taoufik Chobba from Tunisia. However, in his second fight, he lost to Murat Khrachev. The referee stopped the fight, which is called a TKO (Technical Knockout).

Beijing 2008

Anthony worked hard and qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. He won his first match against Julius Indongo from Namibia with a score of 14 to 2. In his next fight, he faced a strong opponent, Aleksei Tishchenko from Russia. Anthony lost this match with a score of 3 to 11.

Commonwealth Games Qualifier

In 2006, Anthony won a special competition to qualify for the Commonwealth Games. He beat another boxer named Leonardo Zappavigna. Anthony even won this fight while he had a broken left hand! However, because of his injury, he could not join the team for the Games.

Anthony was also a scholarship holder at the Australian Institute of Sport. This program helps talented athletes train and develop their skills.
