Anthony Vaccarello, born on January 18, 1982, is a famous fashion designer. He is from both Belgium and Italy. Today, he is the main designer, called the creative director, for the well-known fashion brand Yves Saint Laurent. He also used to have his own clothing line.

About Anthony Vaccarello
Anthony Vaccarello was born in Brussels, Belgium, on January 18, 1982. His parents were from Italy. His dad worked with plasterboard, and his mom worked in an office. He was their only child.
His Journey into Fashion
Before becoming a fashion designer, Anthony Vaccarello studied law for one year. In 2000, he decided to change paths. He enrolled at La Cambre, a famous art school, to study sculpture.
Later, he switched to studying fashion at the same school. He worked very hard and graduated with honors in 2006. Two designers, Rei Kawakubo and Azzedine Alaïa, inspired him to focus on fashion. His final student collection was shown at a fashion festival in Hyères, in Southern France. After this show, a very famous designer named Karl Lagerfeld offered him a job at Fendi.
Starting His Career
Anthony Vaccarello worked for Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi for two years. He specialized in designing clothes made with fur. In January 2009, he moved back to Paris. There, he launched his own clothing line, which was ready-to-wear. He showed five of his designs in the window of a Parisian shop called Maria Luisa.
His collection was a big success. In 2011, he won the important ANDAM prize for fashion. A famous model, Anja Rubik, wore one of his striking white dresses to the 2012 Met Gala. Later, he met Lou Doillon at a dinner party. She became a model for his lookbook, which is like a photo album of new designs. The photos were taken in a parking garage.
Working with Big Brands
By September 2014, Anthony Vaccarello started creating a special collection for Versus Versace. This is a part of the famous Versace fashion house. He worked with Versace for three years. First, he was a consultant, giving advice on designs. Then, in 2015, he became their creative director. He designed several collections for Versus during this time.
In April 2016, it was announced that he would become the new creative director of Saint Laurent Paris. This was a very big step in his career. In his first full year as the main designer at Saint Laurent, the company's earnings grew by 25.3 percent compared to the year before. This shows how successful his designs were.
Personal Life
Anthony Vaccarello is good friends with the model Anja Rubik. She even walked in his fashion show for Autumn/Winter 2012.
He is married to Arnaud Michaux. Arnaud also works with Anthony in the YSL design studio. In the spring of 2021, they shared on Instagram that they had a child named Luca.
Awards and Honors
In July 2011, Anthony Vaccarello won the ANDAM Fashion Award. This award came with €200,000, which helped him grow his own fashion line.
