Antonio Langella is an Italian footballer born on March 30, 1977. He was a versatile player who could play as a forward (close to the opponent's goal) or a winger (on the sides of the field).
Playing for Football Clubs
Antonio Langella started his football journey playing for smaller teams in Sardinia, a large island in Italy. In March 2002, he joined Cagliari Calcio, a team that was then in Serie B, which is Italy's second-highest football league.
He made his first appearance in Serie A, Italy's top football league, on September 12, 2004. This big moment happened in a match against Bologna.
After playing for Cagliari, Antonio moved to Atalanta on July 10, 2007. In 2008, he joined Udinese. From Udinese, he was immediately loaned out to Chievo for a season.
In the summer of 2009, he joined Bari, a team that had just been promoted to Serie A. He played nine games for Bari in his first season there. In the next two seasons, he didn't play any games for the team. In September 2011, he decided to end his contract with Bari and stopped playing professional football.
Playing for Italy
Antonio Langella also had the honor of playing for the Italian national team. He played three games for his country in 2005, when Marcello Lippi was the coach.
His first game for Italy was on February 9, 2005. It was a friendly match against Russia, which Italy won 2-0. He also played in a friendly game against Iceland on March 30, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
His final game for Italy was on June 11, 2005. It was another friendly match, this time against Ecuador in New York, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
