Antonio Tomás González was born on January 19, 1985. He is a Spanish former professional footballer. He played as a defensive midfielder, a player who helps protect the defense and win the ball back.
Club Career
Antonio Tomás started his football journey in Torrelavega, Cantabria, where he was born. He joined the youth team of Racing de Santander, a big local club.
He made his debut in La Liga, Spain's top football league, on October 30, 2005. He started a game for Racing de Santander against Valencia CF. In that season, he played 23 games.
In 2006, Antonio Tomás signed with Deportivo de La Coruña. He was immediately loaned back to Racing de Santander for a year. He returned to Deportivo for the 2007–08 season. He played occasionally as Depor finished ninth in the league.
From 2009 to 2011, his manager, Miguel Ángel Lotina, used him regularly. Most of his 51 league games were starts. However, Deportivo was relegated in the 2010–11 season. After this, Antonio Tomás left the club.
On September 27, 2011, Antonio Tomás joined Real Zaragoza on a one-year contract. But on February 20, 2012, he left Zaragoza. He then signed a 16-month contract with PFC CSKA Sofia, a club in Bulgaria.
Antonio Tomás returned to Spain for the 2012–13 season. He spent four seasons playing in the Segunda División (Spain's second-tier league) with CD Numancia. On July 17, 2016, he moved to Super League Greece side Veria F.C. for one year.
In the summer of 2017, Antonio Tomás returned to Racing de Santander. At this time, Racing was playing in the Segunda División B, which is the third tier of Spanish football.
