Antti Sakari Pihlström (born October 22, 1984) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player. He plays as a left winger, which means he plays on the left side of the ice and helps score goals. Antti is currently playing for HPK in the Finnish Liiga. He is known for his hard work and energy on the ice.
Antti's Hockey Journey
Antti Pihlström started his professional hockey career in Finland. He played for teams like the Espoo Blues, HPK, and SaiPa in the top Finnish league, which was called the SM-liiga back then.
Playing in North America
In 2007, Antti got a big chance. He signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators, a team in the NHL in North America.
- During the 2007–08 season, Antti mostly played for the Milwaukee Admirals. This team is connected to the Predators and plays in a league called the American Hockey League (AHL).
- He also got to play one game for the Nashville Predators, which was his first time playing in the NHL.
- He played more games for the Predators in the 2008–09 season.
Back to Europe
After his time in North America, Antti returned to Europe.
- He played for Färjestads BK in Sweden's top league.
- Then, he went back to Finland to play for JYP.
- Later, Antti moved to Russia to play in the KHL. He spent four seasons with Salavat Yulaev Ufa.
- In 2015, he tried to return to the NHL by joining the Columbus Blue Jackets training camp. But he ended up playing for CSKA Moscow in the KHL that season.
- In 2016, he had a short time with Fribourg-Gotteron in Switzerland.
- Soon after, he joined Jokerit Helsinki, another team in the KHL.

Antti Pihlström has been a very important player for the Finnish national team. He has represented his country in many big tournaments around the world.

- Antti first played for the Finnish national team in the 2008 World Championships. He scored five goals in that tournament, which was the most on the Finnish team!
- He has won several medals for Finland, including a gold medal at the 2011 World Championship.
- He also won silver medals at the 2007 and 2016 World Championships.
- Antti helped Finland win a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. This is a huge achievement for any athlete.
