Starting in Finland's Top League
Antti Pihlström began his professional hockey career in Finland. He played in the country's top league, which was called the SM-liiga at the time. He played for teams like the Espoo Blues, HPK, and SaiPa.
Playing in North America
On June 1, 2007, Antti signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators. This team plays in the NHL, which is the biggest hockey league in North America.
During the 2007–08 season, Antti mostly played for the Predators' minor league team. This team was the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League (AHL). He also got to play in one NHL game for the Predators.
Adventures in Europe and Russia
After his time in North America, Antti played for Färjestads BK in Sweden. He also returned to Finland to play for JYP. Later, he moved to Russia to play in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
He spent four seasons with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the KHL. In 2015, he tried to return to the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets. However, he ended up playing the 2015–16 season with CSKA Moscow in the KHL.
In September 2016, Antti signed a short contract with Fribourg-Gotteron in Switzerland. The next month, he joined Jokerit Helsinki back in the KHL.

Antti Pihlström has proudly played for the Finnish national team. He first played for Finland in the 2008 World Championships. In that tournament, he scored five goals, which was the most on the Finnish team.
He has won several medals for Finland. These include a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. He also won a gold medal at the 2011 IIHF World Championship. Additionally, he earned two silver medals and another bronze medal at other World Championships.
