Anna "Anya" Garnis was born on May 26, 1982. She is a talented ballroom dancer from Latvia. Anya is well-known for her amazing dance skills. She has performed in many popular dance shows.

Anya moved to the United States in 2000. She moved with another dancer, Pasha Kovalev, to become professional dancers. They wanted to make dancing their career.

So You Think You Can Dance

In 2007, Anya became a contestant on the TV show So You Think You Can Dance. This show is a competition where dancers show off their skills. Anya was one of the top 20 dancers in Season 3.

After the show, she joined the live tour. This meant she traveled around and performed for audiences. Later, she returned to the show as an "all-star" dancer. All-stars are past contestants who come back to dance with new contestants.

Burn the Floor and Dancing With the Stars

Anya and Pasha Kovalev were also lead dancers in a show called Burn the Floor. This was a big dance show that toured around the world.

After that, Anya was a lead dancer in the Dancing With the Stars Live show in Las Vegas. This show brought the excitement of the TV series to a live audience.

Strictly Come Dancing

In 2013, Anya joined the TV show Strictly Come Dancing in the United Kingdom. She became a professional dancer for Series 11. On this show, professional dancers team up with celebrities.
