Patrick Robinson is a well-known British actor. He was born on November 6, 1963. He is most famous for his role in the popular medical drama series Casualty on BBC One. In the show, he played Martin "Ash" Ashford. Ash was first a nurse, and later became a senior doctor called a consultant.

Early Life and First Steps

Growing Up and Finding Drama

Patrick Robinson was the fifth of seven children. His father was an Jamaican electrician who moved to England. His mother was born in England. When Patrick was 14, he joined the South East London School Drama Group. This was his first experience with acting.

Patrick is also the cousin of famous footballer and TV personality Ian Wright. He was even offered a chance to try out for a football team, Southampton F.C.. However, he chose to take more drama classes instead. He wanted to focus on acting.

After school, Patrick studied architecture for a year. But he soon left to work as a messenger for the Robert Stigwood organisation. Later, he went on to study acting. He graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. This is a well-known drama school.

After finishing drama school, Patrick Robinson began his career in theatre. He joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. This is a very famous theatre group. He spent two seasons acting with them in Stratford-upon-Avon. Then he spent two more seasons performing in London.

In 1990, Patrick joined the cast of Casualty. He played the character Martin "Ash" Ashford, a nurse. He left the show for a while. But he returned in 2013-2014 to play Ash again, this time as a consultant doctor. He also came back to Casualty in 2016 for the show's anniversary celebrations.

Patrick has also acted in films. In 2003, he played a CIA agent named Leon Washington. This was in the action film Belly of the Beast. He starred alongside actor Steven Seagal in this movie.

He appeared in an episode of the CBBC drama The Story of Tracy Beaker (TV series). He played Theo, the father of a character named Crash Daniels.

He is a big fan of the football club Arsenal F.C.. His cousin, Ian Wright, used to play for the team. Patrick often plays football for Arsenal's team of former professional players and celebrities. He also plays street hockey. He co-founded a team called the Ashmead Cruisers in 1980. His team was runner-up in the national street hockey tournament twice in the 1980s.
